Healthcare Administrative Partners to Present on PQRS Readiness at Upcoming SePHIMA Meeting
Media, PA, March 2, 2015 –The Spring Meeting of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Health Information Management Association (SePHIMA) will take place on Friday, March 6th, at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, PA. SePHIMA is an association of individuals who are organized to improve the art and science of health information management and to improve the quality of comprehensive health services for the welfare of the public.
As part of the continuing education sessions offered at this meeting, Healthcare Administrative Partners’ Gloria Johnston, Vice President of Health Information Services, and JoJo Sandhu, Health Information Consultant and Project Manager, will present an overview of critical issues related to the Physician Quality Reporting System. Commonly known as PQRS and implemented by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, this program is designed to incentivize healthcare providers to report information regarding quality and cost of care by utilizing specific measurement processes and data protocols. This session will summarize the key issues that healthcare providers across a variety of specialties need to be aware of in order to safeguard practice revenue as the PQRS program moves into a new, value-based phase that includes potential negative payment adjustments.
