Position Title: Director of Billing Operations

State: PA

JOB PURPOSE:
The Director of Billing Operations is responsible for the overall operations in the Billing Department, including direct supervision of Billing Department Staff and ensuring that the accurate collections of receivables and account postings are completed in a timely manner.  Additional responsibilities include the following: 

    Essential Functions
  • Direct the operational team to meet or exceed key performance indicators.
  • Implement operations systems and procedures to help build a streamlined, efficient organization.
  • Lead and mentor project teams to drive quality improvements
  • Drive operations to optimize efficiency and maximize profitability.
  • evelop leadership team through empowerment, delegation and mentoring.
  • Manage, administer and evaluate all operations-related functions and activities.
  • Meet or exceed client deadlines and expectations.
  • On-board new projects and client practices to ensure success in meeting objectives.
  • Assist in developing and implementing company strategy with executive leadership team.

    Secondary Functions
  • Identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Create an environment of continual process improvement and leadership development.
  • Contribute to organizational success through sharing of knowledge and successes with peer directors and operations management team.

    Knowledge and skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of billing and accounts receivable in a health care environment
  • Medical Coding experience preferred, Certified coding professional a plus
  • Previous management experience, leading medium to large teams
  • Experience with billing systems, GE Centricity a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare billing policies
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Experience in managing Medicare, Medicaid, and Third-Party billing; s/b collections, training, monthly reconciliation and management of adjustments and denials
  • Has held responsibility for an Aged Trial Balance (ATB) or Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and delegate appropriately
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Education & work Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of five years supervisory experience
  • Minimum of five years healthcare billing experience
  • Experience working in a medium to large physician practice environment.
